Know your floor

A dense tile with plenty of design options.

Porcelain is a ceramic tile with very low water absorption. Stone and wood looks, matte finishes and larger formats offer many ways to shape an interior. Low absorption alone does not establish slip resistance or make every tile suitable outdoors.

An honest comparison

The advantages. The trade-offs.

Why people choose it

  • A low-absorption tile for suitable residential and commercial applications.
  • Many realistic stone and wood looks, plus contemporary colours and formats.
  • A durable finish when the product and installation match the space.

What to keep in mind

  • Hard underfoot, with a potentially cool feel.
  • Large formats and precise cutting can increase installation requirements and cost.
  • Polished or smooth finishes may be unsuitable where extra slip resistance is needed.

Installation matters

A good floor starts underneath.

Flatness, coverage beneath the tile, movement joints and the correct setting system all matter. We help you plan grout joints and layout, and confirm the selected tile’s intended use before installation.

We can also help you coordinate flooring colours, textures and finishes with the rest of your interior. Bring your cabinet, paint or countertop samples to our showroom.
